How do humans impact the environment and what can we do about it?
Humans impact the environment in a very detrimental way. By being consumed by all that does bad to the Earth, humans are the greatest stressor to climate change. What can be done however is starting small. The best way to spread the word is through education. Education is wealth, and starting somewhere like ending mass consumption is a small way to help. By stopping the act of purchasing from large companies, greenhouse gases will be emitted less, thus the slowing down of climate change.
A solution to this problem would be to start small at ending consumer culture. This is an act accompanied with the philosophy of egalitarianism. If an egalitarian believes that people should be equal and among that there should be equity. Then, by ending mass consumption, people will be more equal. With everyone owning relatively the same things, we will be helping with a more equal world and a healthier one.
A challenge I faced this semester was balancing school work with honors work. Having this much work was a blessing and a curse. A curse because throughout the semester I was stressed, however a blessing for so many other reasons. Now, I feel as though I’ve learned how to balance work and prioritize everything. And as for college, I feel like I have a better idea of how I will be handling that work.
