Sublime Project
For this project, we are going to "be someone else". What this means is that we pick one of our favorite artists/one that we like, and do a piece inspired by them. We do searches on them and really look at what makes their art theirs. Then we do our own piece that has their style mixed with ours. At the end of this project we will have an exhibition. During this exhibition, we will auction off our pieces to anyone who bids. This isn't mandatory, but however much the piece sells for we will get the profits. I think this is a way for us to see what and art auction would be like. I like this project a lot because it's a way to look at other artists styles and mix them with ours.
Final Piece:
This is the final piece of my Sublime project. There were two, but one sold at the show/exhibition, so I only have this one. The other one was very similar to this, just with a lemur, and a moon. I chose do to cut out animals, because that is something my artist does a lot with her work.
Marilyn Monroe:
For this part of the project, before we started everything else, we had to practice painting the different hues of a portrait. I chose Marilyn between Kanye West, and decided to do blues and oranges. This was also an Andy Warhol practice project.
